Brushed Cotton (Eggshell)
This fabric is the perfect choice for your desert farmer tunic and we've been using it for years for our costumes. It’s soft to the touch and comes in an appropriate Eggshell color that matches the screen used shirt. The width lends itself to the cut of this tunic which features a seam along the top of the sleeve and under the arm which slopes down below.
A similar fabric was used for the shirt worn by Mark Hamill in the fourth film.
The original shirt worn by Hamill was in fact not a Karate Gi. This is a misconception based on a quote by costume designer John Mollo where he describes the shirt worn by Hamill as a “Jujitsu style shirt” but he was merely describing what inspired his design rather than the ones actually worn by martial artists.
There are key differences between the two shirts and Mollo’s design was custom made from a now rare and very expensive wool/ cotton blend fabric. Our 100% cotton alternative is a close match to the original with a good drape and more rugged durability than the screen used fabric.
